EUP Graphic Design Club Minutes 9/25/2006
We discussed the traditional portfolio and the digital portfolio as well. For the digital porfolio, we reccomend to not use flash (html only please).
Here is an example of a digital porfolio: www.madeinspace.la/home/home.html .
The Navigation of the portfolio should seem simple and easy. When applying for jobs, send out your digital portfolio on a CD. If you wish to use videos on your digital portfolio website, use quicktime (this seems to represent the standard online video service).
This website (www.goodisdead.com) is set up like a book jacket (since the webmaster designs book jackets.
Your digital portfolio should contain the latest news about you, your work, your resume, about you and other links.
Nancy Skolos (a Graphic Design and teacher from Long Island) will visit the club in March. Nancy and her husband (a photographer who works alongside Nancy) will discuss their work, their new book, products and the elements of design.
We’re currently attempting to contact one of the artists from P22. One of the P22 artist might visit Edinboro for a lecture and demo (this would be a 2-day presentation.) The presentation would use either the laptops or computers in Doucette room 108. The P22 lecture/demo would happen sometime this semester.
Laura Jackson is EUP’s new offical Historian.
We’re currently planning a trip to New York in early February. Our club would visit the National Design Museum, listen to different Graphic Design lectures and have the opportunity to view NY on our own. This trip would last for two days.

If you would like to design a promotional poster for Graphic Design club, please use the dimensions of 44 inches by 29 inches. The poster would state the name of the club, time/day, place and an upcoming event.
During the next meeting, members will learn about the budget, the mission statement will be read and the committe of fundraising shall be discussed. We might create designs for other companies and receive donations for the club (SGA still has to approve this).
Brainstorm ideas for the promotional posters!
